Former Boston Bruins forward Riley Nash announced his retirement <\/a>from the NHL on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Nash played two seasons with the Bruins during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. The 36-year-old center\u00a0skated in 157 games in Boston, totaling 22 goals and 36 assists. <\/p>\n

To end his career, Nash played one game with the New York Rangers during the 2023-24 season. He also played 41 games for the Rangers\u2019 AHL team that season, finishing with 11 goals and 27 points.<\/p>\n

The next season, he sat out due to recovering from multiple knee injuries\u00a0from the previous season with the Hartford Wolfpack. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is definitely something weird to say, and it hasn\u2019t really sunk in yet, even though I basically had all of last year away from the rink, but this year will still be weird,\u201d Nash said of retirement, according to Castanet\u2019s Tyler Lowey.<\/a>\u00a0\u201cThis is all I\u2019ve done and focused on for the past 30 years, but now is the time to end this chapter or book and look at what\u2019s next.\u201d<\/p>\n

He played 940 regular-season games in professional hockey, tallying 143 goals and 226 assists for 369 points. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

His first Stanley Cup run was with the Bruins in 2017 when the team fell to the Ottawa Senators in the first round. Nash went back to the playoffs with Boston in 2018 but lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round. <\/p>\n
