{"id":539887,"date":"2026-01-24T17:03:17","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T17:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/539887\/"},"modified":"2026-01-24T17:03:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-24T17:03:17","slug":"nyc-judge-set-to-decide-fate-of-dog-duct-taped-at-nyc-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/539887\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC judge set to decide fate of dog duct-taped at NYC park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Queens judge could decide the fate of three dogs seized from a cruel sicko who was caught on camera <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/29\/us-news\/sicko-caught-on-camera-duct-taping-dog-at-queens-park-arrested-but-cut-loose-after-arraignment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">duct-taping his pooch\u2019s mouth and eyes shut<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kristopher Fyffe was arrested on animal cruelty charges in August after a witness spotted him allegedly wrapping his pup\u2019s mug in the thick tape at Gwen Ilfill Park.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said Fyffe, 38, crammed five canines into filthy crates in the back of a van, and arrested him on animal cruelty charges while seizing the animals, court records show.<\/p>\n<p>Fyffe allegedly blamed a \u201cKaren\u201d for calling authorities on him after witnesses saw the duct-taped dog, authorities said. Reshma Krishnadat\/Facebook<\/p>\n<p>One of the animals was later euthanized due to aggression, while Fyffe surrendered another of the dogs to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which adopted it out, a spokesperson said. <\/p>\n<p>A hearing scheduled for Wednesday in Queens Criminal Court could determine who takes legal ownership of the remaining dogs, which are being cared for by the ASPCA.<\/p>\n<p>But in the meantime, an apparent rumor that authorities were considering returning the animals to Fyffe sparked social media outrage.<\/p>\n<p>NYC Second Chance Rescue called for a protest at the hearing opposing any effort to give Fyffe the dogs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShow up on January 28th and let\u00a0@queensdakatz\u00a0know that this monster should not get his dogs back!\u201d the group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DTWYa2ZkTg9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fyffe pleaded not guilty. The case is ongoing. The Animal Rescue Consortium<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t quite understand how the ASPCA would make any kind of deal with this guy, given the fact that he was blatantly, in a public place, duct taping his animals,\u201d said Jennifer Brooks, president of NYC Second Chance Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>The ASPCA and the Queens District Attorney denied any intention to return the animals to their accused abuser.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 in this case, it was agreed that was not an appropriate pathway for these dogs given the allegations in the case,\u201d an ASPCA spokesperson said of the claim the dogs could be returned to Fyffe.<\/p>\n<p>The pups were found with painful skin conditions, authorities said.
