OPINION \u2014 Congressman Abe Hamadeh has made one thing clear since taking office: he does not want to face his constituents.<\/p>\n
The first time I attempted to arrange a constituent meeting with Congressman Hamadeh last year, I received a call from law enforcement asking about what I was planning. Hamadeh\u2019s office had forwarded my information to them because he allegedly feared I would incite violence. Later, during a peaceful protest at his office, a senior member of his staff ordered the tow of a vehicle belonging to a senior adult constituent \u2014 despite no parking violation being cited. Police records confirm the tow was requested by Hamadeh\u2019s staff.<\/p>\n
Hamadeh has not held a single public event since taking office. Not one. Last year, when constituents organized a public town hall themselves, Hamadeh refused to show up. Since then, his avoidance has only become more deliberate. He removed the public calendar from his website.
