U.S. President Donald Trump<\/a> didn\u2019t hold back from sharing an opinion on Super Bowl 2026\u2019s musical lineup during a recent interview in the Oval Office. Bad Bunny<\/a> headlines the halftime show<\/a> and Green Day <\/a>will kick off the game\u2019s opening ceremony<\/a> at Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 8 \u2014 both of which Trump has thoughts on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m anti-them. I think it\u2019s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,\u201d Trump said, according to a report from the New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Green Day\u2019s put the Trump administration on blast for nearly a decade, dating back to the American Music Awards in 2016, when they led a chant<\/a> of \u201cNo Trump, no KKK, no fascist U.S.A.\u201d<\/p>\n

Most recently, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong openly expressed his disdain at the band\u2019s Jan. 17 concer<\/a>t in Los Angeles, where he swapped lyrics in protest song \u201cAmerican Idiot\u201d to denounce \u201cthe MAGA agenda.\u201d And with \u201cHoliday,\u201d he pledged support \u201cto our brothers and sisters in Minnesota\u201d amid Trump\u2019s aggressive immigration agenda and the chaos its unleashed in ongoing ICE raids across Minneapolis this month; Armstrong told the crowd at Kia Forum, \u201cThis song is anti-fascist. This song is anti-war.\u201d<\/p>\n

Green Day\u2019s set to start Super Bowl LX with a pre-game, opening ceremony performance of \u201ctheir most iconic rock anthems,\u201d the NFL said last weekend. The opening ceremony is celebrating MVPs and 60 years of Super Bowl history.<\/p>\n

And in a trailer<\/a> for his Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show last week, Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny teased that when he takes the field, \u201cthe world will dance.\u201d \u201cWhat I\u2019m feeling goes beyond myself,\u201d Bad Bunny said in a statement when his headliner status was announced. \u201cIt\u2019s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown \u2026 this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Trump, who attended last year\u2019s Super Bowl in New Orleans, announced he\u2019d be skipping the 2026 NFL championship game altogether \u2014 though he says it\u2019s not due to the performers booked, \u201cit\u2019s just too far away.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said there\u2019s \u201cgreat hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter,\u201d said Trump, presumably of the distance from the White House to the West Coast.<\/p>\n

Though Trump was apparently asked only about Bad Bunny and Green Day, Super Bowl Sunday\u2019s traditional pre-game schedule also brings Charlie Puth performing the national anthem, Brandi Carlile singing \u201cAmerica the Beautiful\u201d and Coco Jones singing \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing.\u201d <\/p>\n
