The Trail Blazers<\/a> enter Saturday night with a .500 record (23-23), as they’re in the mix for a play-in\/playoff spot.<\/p>\n

They have shown promise in stretches this season, and could be a move or two away from being a competitive playoff team.<\/p>\n

It might take a few seasons to get there, but they have the pieces to be within range of being the serious threat they aspire to be.<\/p>\n

With a lot of players seemingly available on the trade market, the Blazers<\/a> could look to get involved, with one specific player that reports say the team could trade for, in a multi-team Giannis Antetokounmpo trade.<\/p>\n

As cool as it would be to see Portland add Antetokounmpo, they could look to get involved in a trade for a different reason.<\/p>\n

NBA<\/a> insider Marc Stein<\/a> reported that the Trail Blazers have had interest in Knicks<\/a>‘ forward Mikal Bridges for a while, and could see a Giannis trade as a way to aquire Bridges, in the scenario that a three-team trade occurred between the Knicks, Bucks<\/a> and Trail Blazers.<\/p>\n

The Trail Blazers could offload some of their depth to bring in Bridges, putting him alongside players like Deni Avdija.<\/p>\n

Even if it isn’t Bridges that they go after, they have the ability to be a facilitator for blockbuster trades, which is why they are a team to look out for when these types of deals possibly happen.<\/p>\n

It’s unclear how much the Knicks would have to give up to get Giannis, and if they trade away Bridges, chances are another big name would be leaving New York aside from just Bridges.<\/p>\n

The Knicks gave up a lot of assets, including several first-round picks, to trade for Bridges from the Nets<\/a>, so the Blazers will have to give up a sizeable haul to bring in Bridges.<\/p>\n
