SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 A 5-year-old boy was found dead on Wednesday inside a vehicle outside a preschool on the West Side, according to San Antonio police. <\/p>\n

The boy, later identified as Aiden Martinez, was found on Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of Carson Hill Drive, near Potranco Road. <\/p>\n

SAPD Chief William McManus said the boy\u2019s mother would typically drop the child off at Pinnacle Kids Academy and then drive to work nearby. <\/p>\n

The mother told police that she thought she had dropped Aiden off at the preschool. However, McManus said she went to work with the boy inside the car. <\/p>\n

McManus said the woman drove to the preschool to pick up Aiden, but he was inside the vehicle the entire time. <\/p>\n

Aiden was found dead in the vehicle\u2019s back seat, according to McManus. He had been in the vehicle since early Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n

Detectives are investigating whether the mother accidentally or intentionally left the boy in the vehicle, McManus said. <\/p>\n
