Parts of Southeast Texas saw light ice and sleet accumulation following the winter weather<\/a> that pushed into the state over the weekend, though much of the Houston area avoided any significant buildup, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n So how much sleet and ice did parts of the region get on Sunday?<\/p>\n College Station recorded the highest total, picking up a quarter of an inch of freezing rain and sleet, Meteorologist Chita Craft said during KHOU 11 Morning News on Monday. Katy reported about one-tenth of an inch. That’s where drivers were seen slipping and sliding. That includes the big rig we showed you that was stuck on the Katy Freeway connector ramp<\/a> to the Grand Parkway.<\/p>\n Splendora received two-tenths of an inch and Seven Oaks, which is in Polk County, saw about one-tenth of an inch. Patton Village measured six-hundredths of an inch, while Cypress saw about one-hundredth of an inch.<\/p>\n Several parts of town saw a trace of ice or sleet. That includes Pecan Grove, Humble, Shenandoah, Wharton, Spring, and Tomball.<\/p>\n Overall, the totals were relatively good news, with much of Southeast Texas escaping accumulation altogether.<\/p>\n
