The app, which is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701640&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fplay.google.com%2Fstore%2Fapps%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dcom.upscrolled.app%26hl%3Den_US\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Android<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/upscrolled\/id6746533451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iOS<\/a>, currently <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/iphone\/charts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holds the 12th spot<\/a> in Apple\u2019s App Store, and it\u2019s struggling to keep up with an influx of new traffic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">UpScrolled <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/realUpScrolled\/status\/1939536068396913129?s=20\">was founded in<\/a> 2025 by Issam Hijazi, a Palestinian-Jordanian-Australian technologist, with the goal of <a href=\"https:\/\/upscrolled.com\/en\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">giving users the ability<\/a> to \u201cfreely express thoughts,\u201d while \u201censuring every post has a fair chance to be seen.\u201d Its website says the platform will remain \u201cimpartial\u201d to political agendas, won\u2019t shadowban users or content, and will \u201cuphold social responsibility.\u201d The app\u2019s interface looks like a mix between Instagram and X, allowing you to post and discover photos, videos, and text posts, as well as write private messages to other users.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">This isn\u2019t the first time we\u2019ve seen such a large call to switch to alternative social networks, as TikTokers flocked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2025\/1\/13\/24342986\/rednote-xiaohongshu-chinese-social-media-app-tiktok-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apps like RedNote<\/a> in response to the TikTok ban last year, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/23429095\/twitter-social-network-alternatives-mastodon-reddit-tumblr-cohost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">other networks<\/a>, like Bluesky and Mastodon, emerged as popular spots for people looking to get away from X.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TikTok\u2019s takeover in the US has prompted users to join an alternative social platform called UpScrolled.
