{"id":54835,"date":"2025-07-10T18:58:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T18:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/54835\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T18:58:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T18:58:11","slug":"i-care-san-antonio-offers-free-eyeglass-replacement-for-hill-country-flood-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/54835\/","title":{"rendered":"I Care San Antonio offers free eyeglass replacement for Hill Country flood victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tOn July 9, I Care San Antonio, a faith-based, medical nonprofit, announced that it will provide free eyeglass replacement for those affected by the recent flooding in the Hill Country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to a news release, the non-profit will provide free replacement eyeglasses for victims of the Hill Country flood.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our hearts are with everyone affected,\u201d said Megan Burkes, executive director of I Care San Antonio. \u201cWe can only imagine how overwhelmed everyone is, and we&#8217;re here to help the best way we can. By offering emergency eyeglass replacements, we hope to restore not just vision\u2014but a small sense of normalcy and comfort when it&#8217;s needed most.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To be eligible, residents:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have lost their eyeglasses in the floods<\/li>\n<li>Must live in affected areas in the Hill Country<\/li>\n<li>Must present valid identification confirming their residence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To receive assistance, residents can either visit I Care San Antonio, 1779 NE Loop 410, which is open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or contact the nonprofit at 830-229-1779 or <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/cdn-cgi\/l\/email-protection\" class=\"__cf_email__\" data-cfemail=\"7910171f1639101a180b1c0f100a10161757160b1e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[email\u00a0protected]<\/a>. No application is required, and prescription glasses will be expedited.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The backstory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I Care San Antonio was founded in 1991 by Dr. Robert A. Rice, an ophthalmologist who has been practicing in San Antonio since 1985, and a group of fellow members from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.covenantcares.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Covenant Presbyterian Church<\/a>.
