The pic is set to shoot later this year, now that its two lead stars are on board. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Picture Company\u2019s\u00a0Alex\u00a0Heineman and Andrew Rona are producing. Theron also will produce through her Secret Menu banner alongside her partners Beth Kono and A.J. Dix. Weil and producing partner Natalie Laine Williams also will produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAmazon and Picture Company<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/amazon-mgm-david-weil-directing-tyrant-the-picture-co-1236483720\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0landed the coveted spec<\/a>\u00a0in August after a bidding war, with the project being fast-tracked once Theron showed interest and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/10\/charlize-theron-tyrant-movie-amazon-1236601657\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1236601657\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">joined at the end of last year<\/a>. Once she was on board, the attention then turned to her counterpart in the project, which had a number of stars chasing before the execs and producers ultimately landed on Garner, who is coming off a monster year of her own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPlot details are vague other than\u00a0Tyrant\u00a0is said to have shades of\u00a0Wall Street\u00a0and\u00a0Whiplash\u00a0set in NYC\u2019s high-end culinary world.\u00a0It is based on a story by Weil and Cody Behan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBest known for her Emmy-winning work on the Netflix series Ozark, Garner starred in two of 2025 biggest hits in the Marvel pic The Fantastic Four: First Steps and the Oscar-nominated horror thriller Weapons.
