{"id":55126,"date":"2025-07-10T21:30:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T21:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/55126\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T21:30:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T21:30:12","slug":"san-antonio-hosts-listening-sessions-on-city-code-enforcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/55126\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio hosts listening sessions on city code enforcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City of San Antonio is hosting 10 public forums seeking feedback on city code enforcement, with the second one happening tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Described as a transparency effort in a news release announcing the listening sessions, the forums will be a place for residents to share their thoughts and experiences with code enforcement and answer questions and update residents on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sa.gov\/Directory\/Departments\/DSD\/CES\/Process\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">code processes<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The city plans to use the feedback to guide <a href=\"https:\/\/saspeakup.com\/CodeStrategicPlan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a strategic plan<\/a> to improve services, communication and responsiveness.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative began with a City Council consideration <a href=\"https:\/\/webapp9.sanantonio.gov\/ArchiveSearch\/Viewer2.aspx?Id=%7bAA0224A2-DAB7-45AB-95F4-A99FC9978E5A%7d&amp;DocTitle=City%20Council%20Consideration%20Request:%20Councilmember%20Dr.%20Adriana%20Rocha%20Garcia&amp;PageNo=&amp;TotalPages=&amp;MimeType=application\/pdf&amp;RelatedDocs=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">request<\/a> in 2023 when former District 4 council member Adriana Rocha Garcia asked the council to consider a multi-phase plan for code compliance. Her request came after feedback from residents showed that half of respondents to a city survey said code enforcement services did not meet their needs or only met them halfway.<\/p>\n<p>After internal input sessions earlier this year, the city is seeking public feedback. <\/p>\n<p>Each City Council district will host a session, the first of which kicked off in District 3 on July 2. <\/p>\n<p>A second session, in District 1, is tonight, and the others will take place through July 30. <\/p>\n<p>Here are the dates and times of the code enforcement sessions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>District 1:<\/strong> 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 10 at Development Services One Stop, 1901 S.
