{"id":551470,"date":"2026-01-29T11:43:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T11:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/551470\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T11:43:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T11:43:13","slug":"she-has-no-real-medical-training-but-feds-say-michigan-woman-kept-getting-nurse-jobs-heres-how","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/551470\/","title":{"rendered":"She has no real medical training, but feds say Michigan woman kept getting nurse jobs &#8212; here\u2019s how"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.<\/strong> \u2013 A 51-year-old woman from outside Grand Rapids will spend years in federal prison for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickondetroit.com\/news\/local\/2023\/08\/04\/michigan-woman-with-no-real-medical-training-caught-actively-working-as-nurse-once-again-feds-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.clickondetroit.com\/news\/local\/2023\/08\/04\/michigan-woman-with-no-real-medical-training-caught-actively-working-as-nurse-once-again-feds-say\/\">repeatedly posing as a licensed nurse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-wdmi\/pr\/2026_0127_Gallarzo_Sentencing_PR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-wdmi\/pr\/2026_0127_Gallarzo_Sentencing_PR\">According to authorities<\/a>, Leticia Gallarzo used the Michigan licensing number and name of an actual nurse to secure a job at a Grand Rapids hospice care facility between August 2022 and May 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">This marks the third known conviction for Gallarzo for falsely representing herself as a nurse, with previous convictions in 2016 in Kent County <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdtx\/pr\/nurse-imposter-sent-prison-health-care-fraud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdtx\/pr\/nurse-imposter-sent-prison-health-care-fraud\">and 2017 in Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Officials confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-wdmi\/pr\/2026_0127_Gallarzo_Sentencing_PR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-wdmi\/pr\/2026_0127_Gallarzo_Sentencing_PR\">Gallarzo does not have a valid nursing license<\/a>. She claimed to hold a master\u2019s degree in nursing from George Washington University, but federal authorities said she has no formal nursing degree.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Gallarzo created a fake nursing license, diploma, and identification documents to make it appear to the nursing home that she was trained and licensed as a registered nurse. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Gallarzo obtained employment by assuming the identity of a registered nurse licensed in Michigan.
