Matthews said officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired near the 9800 block of 103rd Street around 7:45 p.m. While on the way, Matthews said JSO learned that the man had been taken to a local hospital in a &#8220;personal vehicle.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Matthews, the man died shortly after arriving at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>As of Thursday, the circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown. Matthews said several individuals were taken to the Police Memorial Building to be interviewed, as detectives with JSO&#8217;s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are conducting an investigation into the incident along with the State Attorney&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that this is an isolated incident and there is no additional threat to the community,&#8221; Matthews said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call JSO&#8217;s non-emergency number at 904-630-0500.
