Independence Hall had been closed for 119 days, beginning with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/11\/05\/nx-s1-5598315\/government-shutdown-longest-history\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the government shutdown on Oct. 1<\/a> and then for two more months of planned repair and maintenance.\n<\/p>\n<p>Kathryn Ott Lovell, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center, said Independence Hall is hands down the most popular attraction in Philly\u2019s historic district.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s number one,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is an incredibly in-demand attraction in the park.
