He is well known for <a href=\"https:\/\/archenvironment.uoregon.edu\/otto-poticha-wins-2020-aia-oregon-presidents-award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/archenvironment.uoregon.edu\/otto-poticha-wins-2020-aia-oregon-presidents-award\">defending architectural monuments<\/a> threatened by the wrecking ball, according to the University of Oregon, where he has been a professor of practice in the <a href=\"https:\/\/archenvironment.uoregon.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/archenvironment.uoregon.edu\/\">School of Architecture &amp; Environment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VMLZPCNY4NDCJJBAKG2BQSZBYA\">A 2025 renovation by Craig Wollen and Cari Coyer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turn-design.com\/contact.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.turn-design.com\/contact.html\">Turn Design<\/a> introduced features that enhanced livability in the house with 1,757 square feet of living space. Improvements include a new membrane roof, electrical panels and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7BTRUL5NYRH7BADAPHKCVNVOVU\">Updates to the kitchen and two bathrooms, which included fixtures and finishes, were made while retaining the original aesthetic and natural materials fitting a home \u201ctucked amongst the trees,\u201d said Roberts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YICR6IZUTFFXBBIS3MCBCKSS3U\">The entrance to the cedar and stucco <a href=\"https:\/\/northwest-listing-photography.aryeo.com\/videos\/01997a9a-8e2f-7152-938b-e9b4a36a1fe3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/northwest-listing-photography.aryeo.com\/videos\/01997a9a-8e2f-7152-938b-e9b4a36a1fe3\">house<\/a> is accessed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPr_RQ2kjsF\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPr_RQ2kjsF\/\">passing an extended deck<\/a> to the wide front door. His classmates included future architects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/business\/2018\/01\/robert_frasca_architect_who_he.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/business\/2018\/01\/robert_frasca_architect_who_he.html\">Bob Frasca<\/a>, who designed Portland\u2019s airport, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/hg\/2014\/10\/michael_graves_home_products_d.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/hg\/2014\/10\/michael_graves_home_products_d.html\">Michael Graves<\/a>, the designer of downtown Portland\u2019s controversial postmodern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland\/2014\/10\/the_portland_building_architec.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland\/2014\/10\/the_portland_building_architec.html\">Portland Building<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Y7WWQLPYK5GNDEZ5DZDTTG4VGY\">Poticha worked at <a href=\"https:\/\/perkinswill.com\/studio\/chicago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/perkinswill.com\/studio\/chicago\/\">Perkins &amp; Will in Chicago<\/a>, Lucas &amp; Niemeijer in Amsterdam and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abdow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.abdow.org\/\">Alden Dow in Michigan<\/a> before moving to Oregon to work for <a href=\"https:\/\/archiveswest.orbiscascade.org\/ark:80444\/xv76596\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/archiveswest.orbiscascade.org\/ark:80444\/xv76596\">Wilmsen Endicott in Eugene<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Y4ODXP4MCZA4RJAOTJQVXW5ODI\">He founded his practice in 1963 and designed residential, commercial and clinic buildings.
