Good afternoon, Chicago.<\/p>\n

The Cook County chief judge\u2019s office has toughened protocols around its electronic monitoring program<\/a>, making changes in the wake of high-profile incidents and as the office\u2019s monitored population swells.<\/p>\n

Chief Judge Charles Beach, who replaced the county\u2019s longtime top jurist Tim Evans in December, announced yesterday changes around how violations of the program\u2019s rules are handled.<\/p>\n
