Oprah Winfrey<\/a> hit the gym to deadlift a significant amount of weight on her 72nd birthday \u2014\u00a0and she credits Adele<\/a> for recommending the exercise.<\/p>\n The icon shared a video to Instagram<\/a> on Jan. 29 of herself deadlifting a barbell, while her trainer can be heard encouraging her in the background.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t know what a deadlift was. I remember Adele told me she was deadlifting and I didn\u2019t \u2014 I pretended to know what she was talking about,\u201d Winfrey said after her workout, before stitching a clip from her 2021 interview<\/a> with the \u201cHello\u201d<\/a> singer, who shared that she\u2019d been deadlifting up to 170 lbs.<\/p>\n \u201cI love it,\u201d Adele told her, sharing that at her peak, \u201cI feel like I could have been in the Olympics.\u201d<\/p>\n Winfrey \u2014 showing off good form and proper breathing while doing five reps \u2014 cheered, \u201cGot it!\u201d when she was finished with her deadlifts.<\/p>\n \u201cLife at 72 is looking different than every other decade.
