SEATTLE \u2014 The Seattle Storm dropped a tough one on Wednesday night, falling 93-83 to the Connecticut Sun<\/a> despite a fast start and balanced scoring effort.<\/p>\n

Seattle couldn\u2019t slow down Tina Charles, who erupted for season highs of 29 points and 11 rebounds to help Connecticut snap a 10-game losing streak.<\/p>\n

The Storm led 49-41 at halftime, with Skylar Diggins (23 points, 7 assists), Gabby Williams (21 points), Nneka Ogwumike (12 points, 12 rebounds), and Ezi Magbegor all scoring in double figures by the break.<\/p>\n

But a cold second half and a surge from the Sun allowed Connecticut (3-16) to earn its first win since June 6.<\/p>\n

Here are three takeaways from the Storm\u2019s recent loss:<\/p>\n

1.Must win all four quarters.<\/p>\n

In a league where roster spots are minuscule and loaded with talent, anyone could win or lose, no matter what the record attached to the organization is. Seattle led by as much as 14 in the first quarter and led the way until Hall of Famer Tina Charles gave Connecticut the lead and didn\u2019t look back in the Sun\u2019s 27-point 4th quarter.<\/p>\n

I think we just didn\u2019t execute,\u201d Head coach Noelle Quinn said. \u201cOur discipline, our sharpness, and all those things that need to happen to compete at a high level and close out games. It didn\u2019t happen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

2.The consistency of being inconsistent<\/p>\n

The storm started the three-game road trip with back-to-back wins over the Atlanta Dream (80-79) on July 4, and then the reigning WNBA champions, the New York Liberty (79-70) on July 6.<\/p>\n

Our defense always dictates what we do offensively,\u201d Quinn said. \u201cWe were able to score at a high clip for three-quarters, and that fourth quarter, I feel our execution was awful.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The \u201chigh clip\u201d was three straight quarters with 20-plus points, but the storm closed out the game with a season low in the final quarter. \u201cNine points–not going to win games [playing] that bad in a 4th quarter,\u201d Quinn said.<\/p>\n

3.There needs to be a \u201cchange in mindset\u201d<\/p>\n

We disrespected Connecticut today,\u201d Forward Gabby Williams said. \u201cWe went, okay, now we\u2019re up, we can relaxWe got what we deserved today.\u201d The \u201cmindset\u201d from a production standpoint for starters like Williams, Skylar Diggins, and Nneka Ogwumike was there as they combined for 86 points, but coach Quinn still expects continuous leadership aside from productivity \u201cOur starters have to be sharper the entire game because they\u2019re in certain lineups with bench players and It\u2019s on them to hold and set the standard.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
