I never would\u2019ve predicted it would save my mom\u2019s life as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/cancer-could-detected-three-years-before-diagnosis-experimental-blood-test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>CANCER COULD BE DETECTED THREE YEARS BEFORE DIAGNOSIS WITH EXPERIMENTAL BLOOD TEST<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the breast cancer risk assessment score?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While there are several risk assessment tools available to patients and physicians, the breast cancer risk assessment tool (BCRAT) is one of the most common, Fox News Digital previously reported.<\/p>\n<p>The BCRAT is based on a statistical model known as the Gail Model.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s named after Dr. Mitchell Gail, an NIH distinguished investigator at the National Cancer Institute, according to a National Cancer Institute (NCI) spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/fda-approves-first-ai-tool-predict-breast-cancer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>FDA APPROVES FIRST AI TOOL TO PREDICT BREAST CANCER RISK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The five-minute test helps predict a woman\u2019s risk of developing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/medical-research\/cancer-research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">invasive breast cance<\/a>r within the next five years, and up to 90 years of age, according to the NCI.<\/p>\n<p>Just one year ago, Munn credited the test with prompting her to get a biopsy \u2013 even after mammograms and genetic testing came back negative.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/munnlaney.jpg\" alt=\"Olivia Munn and John Mulaney attend &quot;An Unforgettable Evening&quot; Benefiting the Women's Cancer Research Fund at The Beverly Hilton on April 28, 2025 in Beverly Hills, California.\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Actress Olivia Munn and husband John Mulaney attend &#8220;An Unforgettable Evening&#8221; for the Women&#8217;s Cancer Research Fund at The Beverly Hilton on April 28, 2025, in Beverly Hills, California. (Stefanie Keenan\/Getty Images for Women&#8217;s Cancer Research Fund)<\/p>\n<p>The biopsy showed she had Luminal B cancer in both breasts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Luminal B is an aggressive, fast-moving cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The BCRAT calculates a woman\u2019s &#8220;absolute breast cancer risk.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/cancer-report-reveals-surprising-new-data-deaths-diagnoses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>CANCER REPORT REVEALS SURPRISING NEW DATA ON DEATHS, DIAGNOSES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On its website, the organization defines this as the &#8220;chance or probability of developing invasive breast cancer in a defined age interval.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The risk calculator considers factors including age, race, medical history and reproductive history.<\/p>\n<p>It also looks at the family history of breast cancer among relatives like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/topic\/family-and-friends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">mothers, sisters and daughters<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/screening.jpg\" alt=\"Senior woman having mammography scan at hospital with medical technician.
