Broadway Dallas announced the full lineup of its 2026\/27 Broadway Series <\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child North American Tour<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are beyond thrilled with the newly announced 2026\/2027 Broadway Series coming to Dallas,\u201d Ken Novice, President and CEO of Broadway Dallas said late last week in a press release when Broadway Dallas (BD) announces its new season. \u201cThis lineup truly has something for everyone. From bold, brand-new productions that spark the imagination to timeless classics that remind us why we fell in love with theater, we\u2019re honored to present a season that celebrates the very best of Broadway and creates unforgettable moments right here in our city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Broadway Dallas and Broadway Across America (BAA) will present six\u00a0Dallas\u00a0premieres and the return of audience favorites for a total of 11 shows. <\/p>\n

The season includes the following with all performances held at Music Hall unless otherwise noted:<\/p>\n

Sept. 8-20: The Sound of Music. Featuring beloved songs like \u201cDo-Re-Mi,\u201d \u201cSixteen Going on Seventeen\u201d and \u201cEdelweiss,\u201d this is the iconic tale of a spirited nun who chooses not to live behind closed doors \u2013 and, by following her heart, learns to climb every mountain.<\/p>\n

Nov. 3-15: Buena Vista Social Club. Step into the heart of Cuba, beyond the glitz of the Tropicana, to a place where blazing trumpets and sizzling guitars set the dance floor on fire. Here, the real sound of Havana is born \u2013 and one woman discovers the music that will change her life forever.<\/p>\n

Nov. 25-29: Dr. Seuss\u2019 How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical (season option). Inspired by Dr. Seuss\u2019 original illustrations, this musical helps transport audiences to the world of Whoville, while the music and book of Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason breathe new life into this story of the true meaning of Christmas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dec. 16-Jan. 3: The Phantom of the Opera. Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s legendary musical which received acclaim by London critics when it reopened in 2021.<\/p>\n

Jan. 12-24: The Notebook at the Winspear Opera House. Based on the best-selling novel that inspired the film, this is the story of Allie and Noah, both from different worlds, who share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart.<\/p>\n

Feb. 3-14: Hell\u2019s Kitchen. Written and inspired by her life, her music and her community, Alicia Keys tells this storey of a 17-year-old girl full of fire, searching for freedom, passion, and her place in the world. <\/p>\n

March 30-April 4: Hadestown at the Winspear Opera House (season option). Two mythic tales \u2014 that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone \u2014 invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.\u00a0<\/p>\n

April 13-25: Water for Elephants. After losing what matters most, a young man jumps a moving train unsure of where the road will take him and finds a new home with the remarkable crew of a traveling circus, and a life\u2014and love\u2014beyond his wildest dreams.<\/p>\n

May 11-23: Death Becomes Her. Some people will do anything to look eternally fabulous. But famous actress Madeline Ashton and her best frenemy Helen Sharp are about to go too far\u2026thanks to a mysterious woman named Viola Van Horn and a secret potion that\u2019s to die for.<\/p>\n

June 1-6: The Book of Mormon (season option). This musical comedy follows the adventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries, sent halfway across the world to spread the Good Word.<\/p>\n

June 15-27: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. When Harry Potter\u2019s son Albus befriends the son of his rival, Draco Malfoy, it sparks a new journey with a race through time, spells and an epic battle brought to life through theatrical magic.<\/p>\n

Broadway Dallas appoints new Chair of the Board, new board members<\/strong><\/p>\n

In other BD news, On Thursday morning, the organization made the anouncement of Michelle Mazzini being named as Chair of the Board of Directors, effective January 2026. Mazzini has served on the Broadway Dallas Board since 2017 and has held chair positions on Governance and Development Committees. She is Vice President and General Counsel of Spindletop.<\/p>\n

Additionally, BD also named Brendan T. McGuire, Regional President of PNC Bank, as Chair Elect and seven new members have been appointed to the Board of Directors. The newly elected individuals will help support the nonprofit\u2019s mission to entertain, educate, engage, and enrich the cultural landscape of North Texas and the Southwest Region. They are Lindsay Billingsley \u2013 Founder, LAB Strategies; Chris Blackburn \u2013 Founder and Owner, Texas Counter Fitters; Doti Butler \u2013 Sr. Compliance Analyst, AT&T; Hilda Galvan \u2013 Founder, HC Galvan Law, PLLC; Catalina Gonzalez Jorba \u2013 Designer\/Owner, Dondolo; Kymberley Scalia \u2013 Senior Vice President of Marketing, HALL Group; Jeremy Singleton \u2013 Partner, Skycastle Partners.<\/p>\n

Donald Fowler Theater Arts Memorial Fund opens applications for 2026 grant award<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, The Donald Fowler Theater Arts Memorial Fund announced that applications for its 2026 Grant Award have opened. The Fund was created in the memory of Dallas actor, composer and playwright Donald Fowler and provides support in the form of seed grants to artists living in the Dallas Metroplex, supporting creation of new works of theater, including plays and musicals. The grants assist with early costs of creation for individual artists whose work-in-progress is not yet financially supported by a theater or presenter.<\/p>\n

For the current cycle, one grant is expected to be awarded in the amount of $5,000. Completed applications will be accepted through March 13, 2026. A grant award will be announced in May 2026.<\/p>\n

The 2026 grant application, eligibility requirements, and other information about the Fund may be found on the Fund\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 2025 grant was awarded to Lauren LeBlanc and Ian Ferguson for their musical The Penumbra. Previous grant recipients include Janelle Gray (Under the Bridge, 2024); Catherine DuBord (The Last Flapper, 2023); Adam Wright (Another Night at the Crescent, 2022); Holly Doubet (38 Minutes, 2021, now titled This is Not a Drill).<\/p>\n
