\n\tEXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> Days after Bruce Springsteen<\/a> released his poignant \u2018Streets of Minneapolis\u2019 song<\/a> over the killing of two Americans by ICE<\/a> agents, the Boss is in the Minnesota city to perform as a part of today\u2019s National Shutdown protest.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoining E Street Band tour vet Tom Morello, Springsteen will be taking the stage at the iconic First Avenue club this afternoon, Deadline has confirmed. No word on how many songs Springsteen will put on. <\/p>\n

\n\tRage Against the Machine co-founder Morello teased the rock legend\u2019s appearance online earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\n\tReps for the CAA<\/a> signed Springsteen did not respond to request for comment on his aim to preform in Minneapolis<\/a> today. Coming after months and months of raids, abductions, violence and repression on the part of the feds, the recent shooting killings of\u00a0Alex Pretti<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Renee Good<\/a>\u00a0by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in the Minnesota capital has galvanized the nation and the world against the overreach of the MAGA administration. <\/p>\n

\n\tToday\u2019s Shutdown protest has called for \u201cNo work. No school. No shopping. Stop funding ICE\u201d b Americans as a way of making their anger and demand for change known. Business big and small have closed their doors Friday and even production on Grey\u2019s Anatomy has closed down in allegiance. <\/p>\n

\n\tNo stranger to taking political stances in his music and in his support of causes and candidates, Springsteen has been a relentless critic of the cruel and authoritarian\u00a0polices of Donald Trump<\/a>. Having stumped for Kamala Harris in 2024, the \u201cBorn in the USA\u201d superstar has been even more outspoken against the ex-Apprentice host since Trump\u2019s return to power last year.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat criticism went to a whole new level with the sudden dropping of Streets of Minneapolis online and streaming on January 28. After slamming \u201cKing Trump and his private army,\u201d the 76-year-old Springsteen released a video of the song followed the next day. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso on January 29, the clearly piqued\u00a0White House<\/a>\u00a0trashed Springsteen and the song as \u201cirrelevant\u201d and \u201cinaccurate.<\/a>\u201d Last year, as the Jeremy Allen White<\/a>-starring Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere<\/a> was hitting cinemas and as the Boss called out Trump\u2019s \u201ca corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration, POTUS called the Springsteen\u00a0a \u201cdried-out prune of a rocker.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
