MANHATTAN \u2013 POLICE ARE WORKING to \u201cbring closure\u201d to the parents of missing Long Island boy Thomas Medlin, age 15,<\/b> after reviewing security footage from the Manhattan Bridge captured on Jan. 9, the date of his disappearance, the New York Post reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thomas had left his school on Long Island at around 3 p.m. that day and had taken a train to Grand Central Station. He was last seen by security cameras on the Manhattan Bridge\u2019s pedestrian walkway at 7:06 p.m., while his phone last pinged a cell tower at 7:09 p.m. A different security camera recorded a splash in the river at 7:10 p.m., Suffolk County police said on Wednesday. Police said he was not recorded leaving the bridge, and that there is no indication of criminal activity.<\/p>\n

The teenager\u2019s parents appeared on television on Tuesday asking for help finding their son. The investigation is still attempting to learn why Thomas came to the city; it was initially believed he was meeting a friend from an online game.<\/p>\n
