\n\tKenan Thompson<\/a> ponders his time at Saturday Night Live<\/a> coming to an end.<\/p>\n

\n\tThompson, who holds the title of being the longest-running cast member in the show\u2019s history, recently spoke to People<\/a> about what it\u2019s going to feel like to leave the show one day.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI definitely do. It\u2019s, it\u2019s gonna suck,\u201d Thompson said about potentially exiting the sketch-comedy series. \u201cThere\u2019s just so many layers to it. It\u2019s not just the on-screen that you see in that one, camera shot. It\u2019s so many people behind the scenes and years and years and years with each one of those people. So it\u2019s gonna be a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe also opened up about what it\u2019s like to see his cast members leaving. Last month, Bowen Yang left the show<\/a> after joining as a writer in 2018. He is the most recent cast member to exit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s tough for me because I have yet to have the moment,\u201d Thompson said. \u201cIf I was on the other side of it, I\u2019d be a little more like, \u2018Yeah, you know, it\u2019s all good,\u2019 like, \u2018Shake it off\u2019 kind of thing. But, I\u2019m dreading the moment. I might collapse in the moment because it\u2019s been so many years and so many relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s gonna be a drastic change at this point that I never thought, you know, \u2018SNL<\/a>\u2019 would be such a large component in my life,\u201d he continued. \u201cI never thought I\u2019d even get the job in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe comedian has been a main player on the sketch-comedy series since 2003. He joined in season 23.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a 2018 interview with The Hollywood Reporter,<\/a> he spoke about his fear of leaving the show. \u201cI think about leaving and I fear it. This is such a special place, you want to do your part here, but you also want to make room for people that are coming behind you,\u201d he said. \u201cThis was the first year I really started feeling like, \u2018OK, I could push out of it now.’\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Kenan Thompson ponders his time at Saturday Night Live coming to an end.
