A man and a woman watching look at each other exasperated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bezos is an investor in biotech startups <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.technologyreview.com\/2021\/09\/04\/1034364\/altos-labs-silicon-valleys-jeff-bezos-milner-bet-living-forever\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyreview.com\/2021\/09\/04\/1034364\/altos-labs-silicon-valleys-jeff-bezos-milner-bet-living-forever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alto Labs<\/a> and <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/08\/29\/jeff-bezos-backs-silicon-valley-scientist-working-on-a-cure-for-aging.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/08\/29\/jeff-bezos-backs-silicon-valley-scientist-working-on-a-cure-for-aging.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unity Biotechnology<\/a>, which research cell rejuvenation and removal of senescent cells, older cells that have stopped dividing but don\u2019t die and appear to be a cause of age-associated diseases.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Then, a lookalike of millionaire and longevity obsessive Bryan Johnson lies under a red light in a dark room for a cosmetic treatment called red-light therapy, which he is known to <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@_bryan_johnson_\/video\/7265180655678524718\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@_bryan_johnson_\/video\/7265180655678524718\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">use<\/a> to make him look younger.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThey are\u00a0generous to feature me in\u00a0their\u00a0Super Bowl commercial. My mom said she\u2019s proud,\u201d Johnson told Fortune, adding that his Don\u2019t Die movement now is \u201cmainstream.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bezos did not immediately respond to Fortune\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Luxury healthcare can range from the <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/01\/25\/longevity-weekend-time-luxury-vacation-health-ageing\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/01\/25\/longevity-weekend-time-luxury-vacation-health-ageing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expensive<\/a> to the <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2023\/05\/23\/bryan-johnson-tech-ceo-spends-2-million-year-young-swapping-blood-17-year-old-son-talmage-70-father\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2023\/05\/23\/bryan-johnson-tech-ceo-spends-2-million-year-young-swapping-blood-17-year-old-son-talmage-70-father\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eccentric<\/a>, but Hims and Hers wants to challenge the idea you need to be wealthy to get good healthcare.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe campaign centers on the uncomfortable truth that America\u2019s healthcare is a tale of two systems: one elite, proactive tier for the wealthy, and a broken, reactive one for everyone else,\u201d the company said in a <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/investors.hims.com\/news\/news-details\/2026\/Hims--Hers-Returns-to-the-Big-Game-with-a-Message-to-All-Americans-The-Era-of-Health-as-a-Luxury-is-Over\/default.aspx\" href=\"https:\/\/investors.hims.com\/news\/news-details\/2026\/Hims--Hers-Returns-to-the-Big-Game-with-a-Message-to-All-Americans-The-Era-of-Health-as-a-Luxury-is-Over\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two out of three Americans are worried about paying for health care, more than other necessities like groceries and housing, according to a <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.kff.org\/public-opinion\/kff-health-tracking-poll-health-care-costs-expiring-aca-tax-credits-and-the-2026-midterms\/#73627594-4a88-4443-ad6f-c0562a43920d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/public-opinion\/kff-health-tracking-poll-health-care-costs-expiring-aca-tax-credits-and-the-2026-midterms\/#73627594-4a88-4443-ad6f-c0562a43920d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent survey<\/a> from KFF. <\/p>\n<p>Healthcare premiums rose for about 22 million people following the expiration of enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies at the end of 2025. There is<a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/01\/17\/affordable-care-act-bipartisan-support-congress-obamacare-subsidies-premiums-abortion\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/01\/17\/affordable-care-act-bipartisan-support-congress-obamacare-subsidies-premiums-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> little hope<\/a> that the Senate will vote on the ACA subsidy extension bill that the House passed on Jan. 8.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor too long, the \u2018gold standard\u2019 of healthcare has been a well-kept secret for the wealthy,\u201d said Hims and Hers co-founder and CEO Andrew Dudum in the statement. \u201cIt\u2019s time to start democratizing access to the kind of proactive, personalized care that all people deserve.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Hims and Hers offers diagnostic testing, hormonal treatments, and cancer detecting blood tests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company saw a 650% traffic surge on their website after the ad came out, according to Hims &amp; Hers data that the company shared with Fierce Healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The ad is a splashy follow-up to last year\u2019s one-minute spot <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/hims-hers-super-bowl-ad-pharma-fda-compounded-glp-1-drugs\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/hims-hers-super-bowl-ad-pharma-fda-compounded-glp-1-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cSick of the System,\u201d <\/a>which accused the pharmaceutical industry of price-gouging weight-loss drugs and fueling the obesity crisis. Hims and Hers advertised its compounded GLP-1s but <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/hims-hers-super-bowl-ad-compounded-glp-1-drugs-novo-nordisk-wegovy-semaglutide\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/hims-hers-super-bowl-ad-compounded-glp-1-drugs-novo-nordisk-wegovy-semaglutide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drew criticism<\/a> because the drugs aren\u2019t FDA-approved\/ The regulator called them \u201crisky for patients\u201d and told the company to stop <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/09\/16\/fda-weight-loss-drugmakers-false-misleading-advertising-telehealth\/\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/09\/16\/fda-weight-loss-drugmakers-false-misleading-advertising-telehealth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cfalse and misleading\u201d<\/a> advertising.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Super Bowl commercials cost as much as $10 million for a 30-second ad, and viewers should expect ads from tech, pharmaceuticals and wellness companies this year, Mark Marshall, NBC\u2019s head of global advertising told <a aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-01-29\/super-bowl-ad-rates-hit-10-million-for-30-second-spot-nbc-says\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-01-29\/super-bowl-ad-rates-hit-10-million-for-30-second-spot-nbc-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s nothing that builds awareness like the Super Bowl and so I think that\u2019s why you continue to see brands lean into it,\u201d he said.
