{"id":560268,"date":"2026-02-02T05:37:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T05:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/560268\/"},"modified":"2026-02-02T05:37:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T05:37:10","slug":"grammys-2026-highlights-winners-and-major-moments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/560268\/","title":{"rendered":"Grammys 2026 Highlights: Winners and Major Moments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMusic\u2019s biggest night is here.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMost of the genre categories were already announced for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/gallery\/2026-grammys-red-carpet-looks-arrivals-photos-1236490191\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">68th Grammy Awards<\/a> during the pre-telecast Sunday afternoon, and heading into the main ceremony, the biggest storyline is who will come away with hardware in the remaining general field categories. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/bad-bunny\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bad-bunny_1\" data-tag=\"bad-bunny\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bad Bunny<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/kendrick-lamar\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kendrick-lamar_1\" data-tag=\"kendrick-lamar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kendrick Lamar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/lady-gaga-0\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lady-gaga-0_1\" data-tag=\"lady-gaga-0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lady Gaga<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/sabrina-carpenter\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sabrina-carpenter_1\" data-tag=\"sabrina-carpenter\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> all have nominations for album of the year and record of the year and all have history on the line.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFor a running winners list that will be updated throughout the night, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/2026-grammys-winners-list-1236484722\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">click here.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/billie-eilish\/\" id=\"auto-tag_billie-eilish_1\" data-tag=\"billie-eilish\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Billie Eilish<\/a> had one of the bigger surprises of the evening so far as \u201cWildflower\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/billie-eilish-ice-no-one-illegal-song-of-year-grammys-2026-1236492156\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">took home song of the year<\/a>, winning out in a category that featured the likes of Kpop Demon Hunters smash \u201cGolden,\u201d Carpenter\u2019s \u201cManchild\u201d and Bad Bunny\u2019s \u201cDtMF\u201d among others. The superstar was one of several tonight to get political, saying \u201cfuck ICE\u201d during her acceptance speech.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBad Bunny won his first Grammy of the evening for best m\u00fasica urbana album with DeB\u00cd TiRAR M\u00e1S FOToS, also giving the an impassioned and political speech as he started by saying \u201cICE Out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLamar, who came into tonight\u2019s show as the top nominee with nine nominations overall, started the night strong, winning the first award of the night for best rap album with GNX, beating out Clipse\u2019s Let God Sort Em Out and Tyler, the Creator\u2019s Chromakopia. All three rap albums are up for album of the year. Before the telecast, Lamar already won two other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards_1\" data-tag=\"awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">awards<\/a> for best melodic rap performance and best rap song. Clipse, meanwhile, took home a Grammy during the pre-telecast for best rap performance with \u201cChains and Whips,\u201d which featured Lamar as well. Lamar is now the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, breaking Jay-Z\u2019s previous record.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/olivia-dean\/\" id=\"auto-tag_olivia-dean_1\" data-tag=\"olivia-dean\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Dean<\/a> won out for best new artist, beating a group of budding stars that also included Leon Thomas, Addison Rae, Sombr, KATSEYE, The Marias, fellow Brit Lola Young and Alex Warren. During her acceptance speech, the \u201cMan I Need\u201d singer called herself \u201ca granddaughter of immigrants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated,\u201d Dean said. \u201cWe\u2019re nothing without each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile Thomas didn\u2019t win for best new artist, he won two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/grammys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_grammys_1\" data-tag=\"grammys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grammys<\/a> earlier Sunday for best traditional R&amp;B performance and best R&amp;B album, and his album Mutt is up for album of the year.\u00a0Young managed to beat out Gaga and Carpenter to take home the Grammy for best pop solo performance with \u201cMessy,\u201d opening up afterward about mental health struggles as well as her collapse on stage last year and return now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe constantly have to be protected as artists always, and I had to make a decision to do it for myself and to be kind to myself, give myself space,\u201d Young said. \u201cBut now I am back. I feel better. I will do as much as I can to be good for my fans and to be good for the people that love me, and thank you to all of my fans and everyone who supports me and has followed me on this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe performances have been strong Sunday. Ros\u00e9 and Bruno Mars opened the show with global smash \u201cApt.,\u201d and Carpenter followed soon after with an instant classic \u201cManchild\u201d performance that had Carpenter playing the role of pilot running through an airport. All eight best new artist nominees took the stage for a segment as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/justin-bieber\/\" id=\"auto-tag_justin-bieber_1\" data-tag=\"justin-bieber\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Bieber<\/a>, who hasn\u2019t performed at the Grammys since 2022, returned to the stage Sunday night, playing his Swag hit \u201cYukon.\u201d Bieber\u2019s vocals were impeccable, and he played the song completely on his own, with little more than a guitar looper by his side. Gaga put a harder rock spin on \u201cAbracadabra,\u201d and Tyler had one of the most fiery performances of the night with his medley of \u201cThought I Was Dead,\u201d \u201cLike Him\u201d and \u201cSugar On My Tongue.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPost Malone fronted an all-star tribute to Ozzy Osbourne alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith along with Duff McKagan, Slash and Andrew Watt. Lauryn Hill pulled off one of the most memorable in memoriams in recent memory, paying homage to friend and collaborator D\u2019Angelo as well as Roberta Flack, bringing up a wide collection of stars to help including Thomas, Raphael Saadiq, Jon Batiste, Lucky Daye, John Legend and Fugees bandmate Wyclef Jean.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tClipse is still set to take the stage tonight. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLamar, who swept record and song last year with \u201cNot Like Us,\u201d could finally win his first album of the year after getting nominated in the category four times. Gaga is waiting for her first-ever win in the general field after nearly a dozen previous nominations, and Bad Bunny hopes to become the first-ever artist to win album of the year for a non-English-language album. The Latin superstar won\u2019t perform tonight but will play next in a widely anticipated Super Bowl halftime show, which garnered conservative backlash.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSunday\u2019s show marks Trevor Noah\u2019s sixth and final time serving as emcee after he first took the reins back in 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He\u2019s hosted every show since then.
