{"id":560562,"date":"2026-02-02T08:46:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T08:46:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/560562\/"},"modified":"2026-02-02T08:46:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T08:46:41","slug":"woman-killed-in-sunday-evening-dallas-apartment-fire-officials-say-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/560562\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman killed in Sunday evening Dallas apartment fire, officials say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dallas Fire-Rescue is investigating the cause of a fire after a woman was found dead on a burning mattress in an apartment on Sunday evening, officials say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to DFR, firefighters were called at about 6:41 p.m. to an apartment complex at 2359 Highland Road, where a fire alarm could be heard from a first floor apartment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The crew had to force their way into the apartment after knocking and getting no answer, officials say, and upon entering, reportedly found the victim on the remnants of a burning mattress.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Firefighters immediately pulled the woman out of the apartment, officials said, but by that point she had succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The fire was declared out at 7:26 p.m. after firefighters extinguished what was left of the burning mattress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">DFR says it&#8217;s investigating the cause of the fire.
