KTRH\u2019s Traffic Reporter, Sky Mike, says there are two spots guaranteed to slow you down. \u201cWe have 2 of the worst exchanges in all of America on the Southwest freeway at the West Loop and the Katy Freeway at the West Loop 610.\u201d Sky Mike said. <\/p>\n
In addition, drivers experience delays as they run into construction projects across the city. \u201cWe have the White Oak elevation project, that is only going to make things tougher. Eastex Freeway- we have that project coming through.\u201d He said. <\/p>\n
Also, weather conditions add to the mix, delaying construction, and in some cases, causing more collisions. <\/p>\n
Houston is not the only city with drivers feeling the pain. According to the report, New York commuters spent 125 hours followed by San Francisco with 116 hours, then Honolulu in fourth place at 88 hours. <\/p>\n
The report showed Houston drivers in 2025 spent 24.5 minutes on a 10-mile drive during the morning rush and about 31 minutes during the evening, according to the TomTom Traffic Index.<\/p>\n
Brace yourself.
