Justin Bieber<\/a> has surprise-released a new album called Swag<\/a>. The album features Dijon, Lil B, Sexyy Red, the comedian Druski, Gunna, Cash Cobain, 2 Chainz, and others. Production comes from Dijon, Mk.gee, Knox Fortune, Daniel Caesar, and more, and a key songwriter across the album is Tobias Jesso Jr. Listen to the album below.<\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Bieber had been hosting \u201cjam sessions\u201d at his Los Angeles home in recent months. The publication also reported<\/a> that the singer decamped to Iceland to jam, \u201cvibe out,\u201d and finish<\/a> his album.<\/p>\n

One of the new album\u2019s collaborators, Mk.gee, had previously spoken about his work with Bieber for a New York Times<\/a> feature. \u201cHe\u2019s searching,\u201d the guitarist told The Times\u2019 Joe Coscarelli last year. \u201cAnything that comes out of his mouth: That\u2019s pop music,\u201d he continued. \u201cYou can really do pretty wild stuff behind that, just because it represents something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swag is Bieber\u2019s seventh studio album and first since 2021\u2019s Justice<\/a>. He began his Justice World Tour the next year, but he had to cancel<\/a> it early due to health issues<\/a>. The tour cancellation apparently led to financial issues with his then-manager Scooter Braun, who allegedly helped Bieber cover the more than $20 million that the singer owed to the tour\u2019s promoter, AEG Presents. Bieber and Braun recently settled their dispute, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> and TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Bieber sold his catalog<\/a> to Recognition Music Group (then known as Hipgnosis) for a reported $200 million. It marked the company\u2019s largest catalog acquisition at the time.<\/p>\n

Bieber has limited his musical output in the time since Justice. He teamed up with SZA on \u201cSnooze (Acoustic)<\/a>,\u201d Kehlani on \u201cUp at Night<\/a>,\u201d and Omah Lay on \u201cAttention<\/a>,\u201d to name a few of his collaborative efforts. He also shared the songs \u201cHonest<\/a>,\u201d \u201cI Feel Funny<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cBeautiful Love (Free Fire)<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
