NDOW says it has learned that a GPS-collared wolf has crossed into Nevada from California.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Monday morning, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife notified NDOW about the wolf’s location in the high-elevation Sierras, north of Lake Tahoe between Mount Rose and Mount Houghton – away from developed areas or communities.<\/p>\n
NDOW tells 2 News Nevada that the wolf is currently moving in the north part of the Carson Range.<\/p>\n
“Historically, wolves detected in Nevada have been dispersing individuals from neighboring states. These animals typically move through remote areas of the state briefly before moving out of the state,” says NDOW.<\/p>\n
