A Jacksonville city leader is now on administrative leave after being arrested for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n
Action News Jax\u2019s Ben Becker obtained court documents showing Daryl Joseph, the director of the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services<\/b><\/a> was arrested Saturday on the Northside.<\/p>\n >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<<<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n The Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office said Joseph was involved in a crash around 11 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of New Berlin and Cedar Point roads.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n They say his car ended up in a ditch after he turned in front of a truck.<\/p>\n The other vehicle was driven by a 17-year-old with a 16-year-old passenger. According to the report, \u201cthe passenger in the victim\u2019s vehicle complained of tight chest and difficulty breathing\u201d and the passenger was taken to the emergency room.<\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: <\/b>Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a>]<\/b><\/p>\n Police say they arrested Joseph after smelling alcohol while talking to him. The report says his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
