Klein\u2019s, Ohrbach\u2019s, De Pinna, Russeks, Henri Bendel, Franklin Simon, Loehmann\u2019s, JCPenney, Abraham &amp; Straus, Takashimaya, Saks Fifth \u2014 teetering. Bergdorf\u2019s, Macy\u2019s \u2014 tottering. Others \u2014 twittering.<\/p>\n<p>To do alterations, your nearest seamstress now is in Cleveland. Even for a second tier of bar mitzvah invitees it\u2019s sneakers, T-shirts, jeans. Cocktail clothes gone to the dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Even the rich-rich are into<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/07\/lifestyle\/we-sold-thousands-worth-of-designer-clothing-to-a-nyc-secondhand-shop-and-never-got-paid\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> consignment shops<\/a>. Just saying I somehow don\u2019t think it\u2019s what Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, John Adams had in mind when they stood in their britches and proclaimed this heretofore GodBlessUs United States of America.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citizens facing country\u2019s issues \u2018Alone\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s happening? <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/01\/us-news\/trump-announces-two-year-closure-of-trump-kennedy-center-for-major-renovations\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedy Center closing<\/a>. White House under remake. New York mayor\u2019s a socialist. Grammys celebrating <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/03\/entertainment\/bad-bunny-slammed-for-drag-performances-as-calls-to-replace-him-with-george-strait-at-super-bowl-rise\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">something called\u00a0Bad Bunny<\/a>, which is a stretch from Sinatra, Crosby, Torm\u00e9, \u201cGod Bless America\u2019s\u201d Kate Smith.<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s marching. Protesting. Setting fires. Bare nipples, public peeks at a star\u2019s behind cracks have replaced patriotism. Ads for medicines, pills, lawyers have replaced entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens robbed, knifed, shot, killed, abducted. Well,\u00a0first\u00a0take care of the soaring expenses, watch over the elderly and ailing, muscle insurance companies, repair bridges and tunnels, lower prices, do something about automobiles taking NYC a week to get crosstown. Handle marchers, protesters, flag burners, college expenses, religious hatred, aging infrastructures, rein in the pols making all the money, give back our pennies, see that poor people can afford food.<\/p>\n<p>Even our movies now have an angst. Take\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R4wiXj9NmEE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Rachel McAdams\u2019 box office thriller \u201cSend Help.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0She says: \u201cA friend called it a \u2018demented romp.\u2019 It\u2019s not straight ahead horror. It has dark undertones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Right. She also watched survival series \u201cAlone.\u201d If watching it, don\u2019t go by yourself. Take a wild boar along.<\/p>\n<p>This is what agitators want? To create political and media hysteria? To basically destroy us?<\/p>\n<p>OK, you can disagree. That\u2019s your right. But killing our flag? Burning our books? Tearing up religions?
