SAN FRANCISCO (AP) \u2014 Bad Bunny<\/a> says he\u2019s approaching his highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance with a mix of excitement, gratitude and perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I don\u2019t know how I\u2019m feeling. There\u2019s a lot. I\u2019m still in the middle of my tour. I was just at the Grammys last week. All of that,\u201d he said in English on Thursday at a press event hosted by Apple Music. He walked out to his 2017 single \u201cChambea.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited, but at the same time, I feel more excited about the people than even me \u2014 my family, my friends, the people who have always believed in me,\u201d he said. \u201cThis moment, the culture \u2014 that\u2019s what makes these shows special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican superstar born Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, is one of the most-streamed artists on the planet. He will take the Super Bowl stage just one week after he won album of the year at the 2026 Grammys for \u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos.\u201d<\/a> It\u2019s the first time an all Spanish-language album<\/a> has taken home the top prize.<\/p>\n

During the conference, Bad Bunny joked that fans didn\u2019t need to learn Spanish to enjoy his set \u2014 but they should be prepared to dance, a reference to his \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d monologue<\/a> from last October.<\/p>\n

Apple Music\u2019s Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden hosted the conversation with Bad Bunny. Thursday\u2019s event began with conversations with pregame performers<\/a> at 10 a.m. Pacific time.<\/p>\n

This year, a long line formed well before the doors opened, with credentialed media \u2014 including a noticeable presence of Spanish-language and Latin American outlets \u2014 packing the conference room nearly an hour before the news conference began.<\/p>\n

It marked a stark contrast to Kendrick Lamar\u2019s 2025 news conference,<\/a> when the room didn\u2019t fill up until roughly 15 minutes before the event.<\/p>\n

What can viewers expect from the Super Bowl halftime show?<\/p>\n

Despite the heightened interest, Bad Bunny offered few specifics about what viewers will see Sunday. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a huge party,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat people can expect from me \u2026 I want to bring to the stage, of course, a lot of my culture. But I really don\u2019t, I don\u2019t want to give any spoilers. It\u2019s going to be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the artist, the journey to the Super Bowl was never driven by recognition or awards. He said \u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos\u201d became his most meaningful project because it was rooted in reconnecting with his identity, history and culture but not chasing milestones.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t looking for album of the year. I wasn\u2019t looking to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show,\u201d he said. \u201cI was just trying to connect with my roots, connect with my people, connect with myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

That mindset, he said, ultimately opened the door to something larger: bringing a deeply personal expression of culture to one of the world\u2019s biggest stages.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou always have to be proud of who you are and where you\u2019re from,\u201d he said. \u201cBut don\u2019t let that limit where you can go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny is no stranger to the Super Bowl stage. He previously appeared during the halftime show at Super Bowl LIV in 2020 alongside Jennifer Lopez<\/a> and Shakira.<\/a> But he said his focus has remained unchanged.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy biggest pleasure is just to create, have fun doing it and connect with the people,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019m always looking for every time I\u2019m in the studio.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if he will have surprise guests, he said \u201cThat\u2019s something I\u2019m not going to tell you.\u201d <\/p>\n

Then he said he will actually have a lot of guests watching \u2014 his friends, family, \u201cthe Latino community,\u201d and people around the world who love his music. <\/p>\n

At the end of the interview, Bad Bunny took questions from a few student journalists, including one who asked him to name an early supporter. \u201cMy mom,\u201d the singer replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore everything, she believed in me as a person, as a human. She believed in me, in my decisions, in my opinions,\u201d he continued. \u201cI think that\u2019s what got me here, you know? Not because she believed that I was a great artist but that she believed that I am a great person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl will be held Sunday at the Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, with the Seattle Seahawks facing off against the New England Patriots. <\/p>\n

Who else is performing at the Super Bowl?<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl pregame show will open with several standout performers in Northern California: Charlie Puth<\/a> will hit the stage to sing the national anthem, Brandi Carlile<\/a> will take on \u201cAmerica the Beautiful\u201d and Coco Jones<\/a> will sing \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI want them to feel inspired. I want everybody to know that music is such an amazing thing,\u201d Puth said of his performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is pretty much the top of the top,\u201d added Jones. \u201cThis is the bee\u2019s knees. \u2026 It\u2019s hard to compete. Maybe my wedding will be up there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The national anthem and \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing\u201d will be performed by deaf performing artist Fred Beam in American Sign Language. Julian Ortiz will sign \u201cAmerica the Beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the game, Green Day will play a set to celebrate the 60th anniversary<\/a> of the Super Bowl. The band, which has its roots in the Bay Area, plans to \u201cGet loud!\u201d according to lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.<\/p>\n

In a historic first, the halftime show will include a multilingual signing program featuring Puerto Rican Sign Language, led by interpreter Celimar Rivera Cosme. She was also the interpreter for Bad Bunny\u2019s landmark residency in Puerto Rico<\/a> last year that drew more than half a million fans.<\/p>\n

All signed performances for the pregame and halftime shows will be presented in collaboration with Alexis Kashar of LOVE SIGN and Howard Rosenblum of Deaf Equality.<\/p>\n
