Larry Crowson said the call came in around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night. He said two drivers got into a minor accident on the freeway and pulled over to the shoulder to exchange information. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">During this exchange, the man stepped out into moving traffic and was struck by a vehicle. He was killed on scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The driver of the vehicle stayed at the location until law enforcement arrived and showed no signs of intoxication.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Police said they do not know if the man intentionally walked into traffic or was confused about where he was going. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWhen you have a wreck on the freeway, get off the freeway just as soon as possible. Pulling over to the shoulder is safer than staying in a traffic lane, but being on these freeways &#8211; especially at night &#8211; is just so dangerous. Make contact with the other driver, agree to go to the next exit, and exchange information or wait for the police there,\u201d Lt.
