The only models that will continue to work after that date are those that have been configured through Apple HomeKit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The news was shared in an email to customers and on <a rel=\"sponsored noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/belkin.evyy.net\/c\/482924\/214281\/3736?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.belkin.com%2Fsupport-article%2F%3FarticleNum%3D335419\" target=\"_blank\">Belkin\u2019s website<\/a>, and confirms that from next February onwards, \u201cAny features that rely on cloud connectivity, including remote access and voice assistant integrations, will no longer work.\u201d The company will also stop providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance after that date, and the Wemo app will no longer receive updates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Some Wemo devices will continue to work. <a rel=\"sponsored noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/belkin.evyy.net\/c\/482924\/214281\/3736?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.belkin.com%2Fsupport-article%2F%3FarticleNum%3D335419%26irgwc%3D1%26clickid%3D2mNTTf0XCxyNUwfyCLUQjRO9UksSEAVxyQbrzM0%26utm_campaign%3DBelkin%2520Store%2520Home%2520Page%26utm_medium%3Daffiliate%26utm_source%3Dimpactradius%26utm_content%3DTEXT_LINK_225196%23DevicesNotAffected\" target=\"_blank\">Three Wemo products<\/a> (SKUs WLS0503, WSC010, WSP100) based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/23165855\/thread-smart-home-protocol-matter-apple-google-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thread protocol<\/a>, and its video doorbell (WDC010) will work as normal through HomeKit. Other Wemo products that are compatible with HomeKit will also carry on working through the Apple network so long as they\u2019re configured before January 31st.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Belkin says that if your Wemo product is still under warranty when support ends, you may be eligible for a \u201cpartial refund,\u201d though it won\u2019t begin processing those refunds before that date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">This doesn\u2019t come as a total surprise. Belkin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/3\/15\/23641930\/belkin-matter-wemo-smart-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">backed away<\/a> from its support of the Matter smart home standard in 2023, announcing it would \u201ctake a big step back, regroup, and rethink\u201d its approach to smart home hardware. It hasn\u2019t released any new Wemo products since then.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\"><strong>Correction, July 11th:<\/strong> Belkin describes the WDC010 doorbell as Thread-based.
