Robert Sanchez is currently Chelsea\u2019s first-choice goalkeeper, while Filip Jorgensen is his deputy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since arriving at the club, Liam Rosenior<\/a> has been impressed with Jorgensen and has said as much.<\/p>\n

Even so, it has been claimed that Jorgensen will leave Chelsea<\/a> in the summer as the 23-year-old searches for more starting opportunities.<\/p>\n

Does Jorgensen deserve to start over Sanchez? <\/p>\n

That would likely leave Sanchez and Mike Penders<\/a> as the two main shot-stoppers in Chelsea\u2019s first-team squad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to TEAMtalk<\/a>, the message from within Chelsea is that Sanchez remains in the club\u2019s plans going forward.<\/p>\n

Chelsea were keen on Mike Maignan<\/a>, but the Frenchman recently signed a new contract at AC Milan, putting an end to the Blues\u2019 interest.<\/p>\n

With Jorgensen likely to leave Stamford Bridge<\/a> in the summer, Sanchez will now be expected to compete with Penders for the No.1 spot.<\/p>\n

Who is Chelsea\u2019s best goalkeeper? <\/p>\n

The same TEAMtalk report claims that Chelsea intend to integrate the 20-year-old into their senior squad once he returns from Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

Penders joined Chelsea\u2019s sister club on a season-long loan last summer and has impressed there. He will now be hoping to replace Sanchez as the Blues\u2019 first-choice goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

For as good as Penders has been at Strasbourg this season, the Belgian should not just walk into Chelsea\u2019s team when he returns to the club.<\/p>\n

Sanchez has also done well in the current campaign and has not given Rosenior a reason to drop him.<\/p>\n

In total, the Spain international has kept nine clean sheets in 23 Premier League<\/a> appearances. As per FBref<\/a>, he also has a save percentage of 70.8%, which is one of the highest in the English top flight.<\/p>\n

Sanchez joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023. It has taken some time, but he has settled at Stamford Bridge and slowly become one of Chelsea\u2019s top performers. It would be harsh if the 28-year-old was instantly replaced by Penders.<\/p>\n
