\n\tNathan Smith \u2014 aka DJ Young Slade<\/a>, rapper Lil Jon<\/a>\u2019s son \u2014 was found dead near his Georgia home after he was reported missing earlier this week. No cause of death was announced; he was 27. <\/p>\n

\n\tLil Jon<\/a> (Jonathan Smith) confirmed the death in a statement to Variety:<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith,\u201d he said. \u201cHis mother, Nicole Smith, and I are devastated. Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warmhearted \u2014 he loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was an amazingly talented young man; a music producer, an artist and engineer, and graduate of NYU. We loved Nathan with all of our hearts and are incredibly proud of him. He was loved and appreciated, and in our last times together we\u2019re comforted in knowing that we expressed that very sentiment to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNathan Smith was reported missing Tuesday morning after he was last seen \u201crunning out of his home\u201d in Milton, Georgia, about 30 miles north of Atlanta, according to NBC<\/a>. The body was found in a pond near the residence, police said Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\tOfficers were called to Smith\u2019s home at around 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to NBC. Police said he was last seen running out of his residence, and \u201cmay have been disoriented and in need of assistance.\u201d In Friday\u2019s update, police said he left home \u201cunder unusual circumstances,\u201d adding that foul play was not suspected.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs DJ Young Slade, Smith has a robust number of tracks posted on SoundCloud<\/a> and was a prominent presence on the Atlanta hip-hop scene. Recent photos of him with Post Malone, Killer Mike, Big Boi, Fergie, Too $hort, E-40 as well as his father and many others can be found on the internet. <\/p>\n

\n\tLil Jon\u2019s statement concluded: \u201cThank you for all of the prayers and support in trying to locate him over the last several days. Thank you to the entire Milton police department involved: Detective Dula Milton, Investigators Sergeant Scott Lappin, Detective Randy Dula, Detective Sarah Moore, and Detective Daniel Williams.
