The <a href=\"https:\/\/dallascityhall.com\/government\/citymanager\/Documents\/FY25-26%20Memos\/FY26%20Federal%20Appropriations%20and%20Community%20Project%20Funding%20Update.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">memo<\/a> says the funding will go to 17 projects totaling $14,975,000. Additionally, more than $100 million in transit funding is expected to be allocated for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/2026\/02\/02\/dallas-ramps-up-world-cup-logistics-focusing-on-transit-fair-park-and-local-businesses\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FIFA World Cup<\/a> host cities, which include Dallas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/politics\/2025\/12\/01\/festivals-concerts-restaurants-dallas-officials-contemplate-next-steps-for-fair-park\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fair Park facilities improvements<\/a> are among the projects set to receive funding, along with work on the White Rock Lake trails, recreation center improvements and transportation improvements, the memo says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">A list of Dallas-area projects that will benefit, including ones administered from entities outside the city, was <a href=\"https:\/\/dallascityhall.com\/government\/citymanager\/Documents\/FY25-26%20Memos\/FY26%20Federal%20Appropriations%20and%20Community%20Project%20Funding%20Update.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">included in the document<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Breaking News<\/p>\n<p class=\"dmnc_features-cta-social-article-cta-social-module__3beff secondaryRoman secondaryRoman-20 text-center text-gray-dark\">Get the latest breaking news from North Texas and beyond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dmnc_features-cta-social-article-cta-social-module__8MgJa flex flex-wrap text-gray-dark secondaryRoman secondaryRoman-10 text-center justify-center\">By signing up, you agree to our\u00a0<a class=\"dmnc_features-cta-social-article-cta-social-module__lU9-l border-b border-gray-dark hover_border-0 focus_border-0 active_border-0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/help\/terms-of-service\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Terms of Service<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"dmnc_features-cta-social-article-cta-social-module__lU9-l border-b border-gray-dark hover_border-0 focus_border-0 active_border-0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/help\/privacy-policy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Privacy Policy.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Among the improvements coming to the city were:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"body-text-list\">\n<li>More than $3 million for trail projects<\/li>\n<li>More than $2.5 million for Dallas Police Department programs<\/li>\n<li>$850,000 for Fair Park facilities improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">City Council will eventually have to formally accept the funds.
