Tax revenue comes from existing value or new value, and for growing communities like New Braunfels, new construction plays a significant role in the existing tax base, New Braunfels Assistant City Manager Jared Werner said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Population growth and the housing surge Central Texas experienced between 2020 and 2022 are two contributing factors to the increase in property and home values in and around New Braunfels, officials with the Comal Appraisal District said.<\/p>\n<p>In Comal County, multiple entities\u2014like New Braunfels ISD, Comal ISD, the county and the city of New Braunfels\u2014contribute to the overall tax rate.
