Loop 101 to close for widening project in northwest Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 One northwest Valley freeway is scheduled to be closed as crews continue a widening project this weekend. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the westbound lanes of the Loop 101 Agua Fria will shut down between I-17 and 51st Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Drivers who need to use the Loop 101 can take Union Hills Drive or the Beardsley frontage road. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">In addition, drivers should also be aware that the freeway will be narrowed to two lanes in both directions between 59th and 75th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>Additional Loop 101 ramp\/road closures:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Both I-17 ramps to westbound Loop 101<\/li>\n<li>Westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 7th Street and 7th Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Westbound Loop 101 frontage road closed just west of 75th Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Westbound frontage road will be closed between 35th and 51st avenues from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday for pavement marking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Meanwhile, drivers in the Scottsdale area won\u2019t be able to use Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, as the road will shut down in both directions at the Loop 101 Pima from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Instead, drivers can use the Loop 101 Pima frontage roads. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Those who are using westbound Loop 202 Santan will not be able to exit at Arizona Avenue this weekend.
