That was until the Miami Dolphins made him their offensive coordinator in late January.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the Jets still targeted a member of the Slowik family to aid their coaching staff.<\/p>\n<p>New York agreed to terms with now-former Dolphins safeties coach Ryan Slowik, the older brother of Bobby and Steve, who\u2019s currently an NFL scout for the San Francisco 49ers, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapSheet\/status\/2020561875113799726\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapSheet\/status\/2020561875113799726\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Jets?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">#Jets<\/a> coach Aaron Glenn continues to build out his staff, this time hiring Ryan Slowik as their safeties coach, source says. <\/p>\n<p>Slowik joins NYJ following four seasons with the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Dolphins?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">#Dolphins<\/a>. Plus, the brotherly favor wrinkle \u2014 the Jets\u2019 safety coach is the brother of the Dolphins\u2019 offensive coordinator \u2014 makes for some intriguing headlines.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, courtesy of the coaching staff makeover, the <a href=\"https:\/\/jetsxfactor.com\/info\/roster\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/jetsxfactor.com\/info\/roster\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">New York Jets roster<\/a> is relying on coaching changes to be the catalyst for major improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Jets add another familiar coaching name<\/p>\n<p>The Slowik family is well ingrained in NFL history. The Slowik brothers watched their father, Bob, coach on the defensive side of the ball for the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and Green Bay Packers over the course of three decades.<\/p>\n<p>New York is hoping Ryan can help fix a position group in desperate need of wholesale changes. <\/p>\n<p>For years, the safety position has been a Gordian Knot for the franchise. Tony Adams, Andre Cisco, Jordan Whitehead, Chuck Clark, and Ahstyn Davis are among the many faces who have taken their turns at the position in recent years. The Jets even invested a third-round pick in one of them, Ashtyn Davis.<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of young players to work with going into 2026, though. <\/p>\n<p>The development of former <a href=\"https:\/\/jetsxfactor.com\/2025\/04\/26\/ny-jets-trade-up-draft-malachi-moore-round-4\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"46674\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">fourth-round pick Malachi Moore<\/a> will be important for Slowik to work with. Other additions are expected as well.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Slowik has a strong track record of getting the best out of safety rooms perceived as lacking top-tier talent.
