Villa\u2019s Tacos<\/a> just made its Super Bowl debut \u2014 and it wasn\u2019t outside of Levi\u2019s Stadium serving up scrumptious fare to football fans.<\/p>\n

The restaurant had a cameo in Bad Bunny\u2019s fast-paced halftime show.<\/p>\n

Right at the start of the Puerto Rican singer\u2019s performance at Super Bowl LX, as he wades through faux sugarcane fields, he passes a series of small businesses. He takes a piragua \u2014 a traditional Puerto Rican shaved ice dessert \u2014 from one seller, then hands off the cone to Victor Villa, as the Villa\u2019s Tacos owner stands behind a cart emblazoned with the business\u2019 name. The singer then ducks beneath the sparring fists of boxers Xander Zayas and Emiliano Vargas.<\/p>\n

Villa, who started the taqueria as a pop-up in the Highland Park neighborhood in 2018, took to Instagram<\/a> to express gratitude for the opportunity, underscoring his family\u2019s immigrant background.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sold our first taco in the front yard of my grandma\u2019s house in Highland Park more than 8 years ago & I feel that every taco along the way brought me here. Today. For this moment!\u201d the post stated. \u201cI couldn\u2019t have sold that 1st taco if my parents didn\u2019t make the difficult decision to leave their homeland for a better life & immigrate to the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles establishment \u2014 known for its freshly pressed blue corn tortillas, char-grilled meats and cheese-encrusted tacos \u2014 has been featured three times in the L.A. Times 101 Best Restaurants list<\/a>, and also is in the Michelin guide<\/a>. The restaurant\u2019s ambitious, maximized layering of mouth-watering ingredients has been hailed by L.A. Times restaurant critic Bill Addison as \u201cdeftly engineered chaos,\u201d ultimately epitomizing the \u201cL.A. dreamer, the go-getter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Villa\u2019s Tacos was also featured on Season 3 of the Netflix series \u201cTaco Chronicles: Cross the Border.\u201d The restaurant has two locations in Highland Park and one in downtown L.A.\u2019s Grand Central Market<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a subsequent Instagram post, Villa thanked the Grammy winner<\/a> again for the opportunity. \u201cIt\u2019s crazy where a taco can take you,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
