Cushman & Wakefield<\/a> <\/b>has hired Randy Abend<\/b> as its new executive managing director, according to a Friday announcement.<\/p>\n

Abend, who started in his new role this week, previously worked at JLL<\/a><\/b> for 23 years and most recently served as managing director in JLL\u2019s New York City office, the announcement said.<\/p>\n

In his new role at C&W, Abend will be based in New York City and focus on tenant representation and agency client services throughout the Manhattan office market.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am excited to join a dynamic team at Cushman & Wakefield and support the growth of the firm\u2019s office leasing business throughout Manhattan,\u201d Abend said in a statement to Commercial Observer. \u201cI am grateful for my time at JLL and the professional relationships I\u2019ve built, and I look forward to hitting the ground running in this next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abend will join C&W\u2019s office leasing team of Adam Ardise<\/b>, Stephen Bellwood<\/b>, Bryan Boisi <\/b>and Daniel Thompson<\/b>. In addition to focusing on Manhattan office leasing, Abend will work on the firm\u2019s national and international accounts for larger corporate clients.<\/p>\n

During his time at JLL, Abend was involved in more than 9 million square feet of lease transactions with clients including Microsoft<\/b>, the Carlyle Group<\/b>, BXP<\/b> and Silverstein Properties<\/b>, the announcement said.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for JLL did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n
