{"id":577891,"date":"2026-02-09T17:16:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T17:16:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/577891\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T17:16:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T17:16:16","slug":"94-year-old-brooklyn-woman-is-missing-amid-freezing-temperatures-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/577891\/","title":{"rendered":"94-year-old Brooklyn woman is missing amid freezing temperatures, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-block-key=\"6jl0x\">Police on Monday were asking people to look out for a 94-year-old woman who they said went missing from her Brooklyn home over the weekend during dangerously cold temperatures.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"8s16\">NYPD officials said Elena Fumara was last seen shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday inside the Myrtle\u2013Wyckoff Avenues subway station in Bushwick.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"35kr5\">She was heading to see some friends and never made it back to her home on Eldert Street near Knickerbocker Avenue, according to police.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"234f7\">Fumara was believed to be in good health and frequents the station where she was last spotted, officials said.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"8ae8v\">Police said she is about 5&#8217;3\u201d and 115 pounds, and has a slim build, brown hair and brown eyes.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"31glc\">Fumara was wearing a green jacket, gray leggings and a red purse when she was last seen, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"93aen\">Wind chills overnight Saturday and Sunday dropped below zero degrees, meteorologists said. Temperatures were not expected to exceed freezing until Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"agvus\">Police are asking anyone with information about her to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
