The sudden loss of employment from various sectors has impacted hardworking individuals at all levels. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">In a CNBC report from last week, the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas reported more than 108,000 layoffs for January, the highest mark since 2009. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cIt\u2019s a rough market out there right now. More layoffs are coming, some have just been announced,\u201d said Houston employment expert Trish Ruff-Cunningham.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Technology and the economy is what is creating layoffs according to Emanuel. Aside form the national numbers seeing an uptick, the Texas Workforce Commission\u2019s number of layoffs year-over-year are also on the rise. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">What are the tips to find a job when on the sidelines? <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cYour resume should not look like a job description,\u201d said Marilyn Emanuel owner of Marilyn\u2019s Coaching Solutions.
