CHICAGO (WLS) — A section of the outbound Eisenhower Expressway on Chicago’s West Side is closed after a pedestrian was injured in a crash on Tuesday evening, Illinois State Police said.<\/p>\n

Interstate 290 is shut down between Kostner and Cicero avenues. That’s near the city’s Garfield Park and Lawndale neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

A vehicle hit a pedestrian, and their condition was not immediately known.<\/p>\n

Why the person was on the expressway was not immediately clear.<\/p>\n

Traffic is being diverted off at Kostner. ISP did not immediately say when lanes might reopen.<\/p>\n
