{"id":582287,"date":"2026-02-11T13:17:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T13:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/582287\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T13:17:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T13:17:15","slug":"kid-rock-denies-lip-synching-at-turning-point-usa-halftime-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/582287\/","title":{"rendered":"Kid Rock Denies Lip-Synching at Turning Point USA Halftime Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/kid-rock-republican-mouthpiece-trump-maga-bff-1235019530\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kid Rock<\/a> is making the media rounds after this weekend\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/kid-rock-tpusa-halftime-show-1235513161\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Turning Point USA alternative halftime show<\/a>, doing the one thing every artist should be doing when their big show is a huge success: Insisting he wasn\u2019t lip-synching.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe musician\u2019s performance of his hit song \u201cBawitdaba\u201d at the \u201cAll-American Halftime Show\u201d definitely looked clunky, garnering plenty of online jokes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/jon-stewart-kid-rock-halftime-show-maga-reaction-bad-bunny-1235514064\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/jimmy-kimmel-pans-kid-rock-turning-point-halftime-show-1235514122\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">late-night bits<\/a>. But in a video shared on social media Tuesday (and during a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Acyn\/status\/2021023318976102402\">Fox News appearance<\/a> last night), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/kid-rock\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kid-rock\" data-tag=\"kid-rock\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kid Rock<\/a> swore his performance wasn\u2019t lip-synched, just super out of sync.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn addressing the accusations, Kid Rock confirmed that his performance was pretaped, and said that the show\u2019s production crew struggled to properly line up his prerecorded audio and video. In fact, Kid Rock swore, if he had actually been lip-synching, it would\u2019ve looked a whole lot better.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My halftime performance was pre recorded but performed live. No lipsycing like the haters and fake news are trying to report. When they synced the cameras to my performance on Bawitdaba, it did not line up as I explain in this video. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/k1x1RfI9RY\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/k1x1RfI9RY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KidRock (@KidRock) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KidRock\/status\/2021253773880881253?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 10, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tKid Rock went on to say he was aware of the problem after the TPUSA team sent him the first cut of his performance. \u201cWe taped it, then they sent me a first cut, and my comment was, \u2018The sync is off,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cIf we would\u2019ve recorded it and played like we were singing it, lip-synched it, it would\u2019ve been pie to line up. It was very difficult for them because someone clearly wasn\u2019t super familiar with the song.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tTo that end, Kid Rock suggested his manic antics during \u201cBawitdaba\u201d further made it difficult for the editors, as they weren\u2019t able to easily pinpoint a moment to match the audio and the video. It\u2019s unclear why this would be necessary, though. You know how film takes are preceded by someone hitting a clapperboard in front of the camera? That\u2019s called <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Heg6kDxXZ8k?si=8XEhgyoKx_si5aag&amp;t=426\">slating<\/a>, and filmmakers of all kinds have been doing it forever, in part so that it\u2019s super easy to match audio and video.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIt\u2019s unclear if the film crew TPUSA hired to do its \u201cAll-American Halftime Show\u201d remembered to slate before filming Kid Rock\u2019s take. And the musician, to his credit, declined to toss anyone under the bus, saying he was confident they would\u2019ve gotten the sync right if there\u2019d been more time.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI have nothing to say but good things to say not only about Turning Point, but the production team that they work with on this and other events they\u2019ve done \u2014 top-notch, first class all the way.
