Update [Wed 11th Feb 2026, 5:45am]:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The official word from Chinese dev Game Science on Black Myth: Zhong Kui<\/a> is that it will release on \u201cPC and all mainstream console platforms\u201d. That obviously suggests PS5, but doesn\u2019t confirm it.<\/p>\n

However, a Sony upload of the latest Lunar New Year trailer, along with a \u2018PS5 Games\u2019 label in the title, suggests the sequel is very much in development for the device.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s notable that PlayStation didn\u2019t upload Zhong Kui\u2019s original reveal trailer, so we\u2019d now consider this confirmation in a roundabout way.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Original Story:<\/strong> Lunar New Year is almost here, and Black Myth: Wukong<\/a> maker Game Science is here to remind us it\u2019s cooking up something special.<\/p>\n

While not technically announced for consoles just yet, we\u2019d be shocked if the dev\u2019s next project, Black Myth: Zhong Kui<\/a>, skipped Sony\u2019s system. Of course, we may all be playing on the PS6 by the time it releases.<\/p>\n

The trailer itself, running in-engine, delivers the level of spectacle you\u2019d probably from the studio by this point. However, the video description does caveat that the content featured is \u201cnon-canon and for entertainment purposes only\u201d.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, it\u2019s an extraordinary little tech demo, pairing a cooking scene with some occasionally harrowing imagery.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot to appreciate about what\u2019s on display here: the art assets are of a remarkably high quality, and the scene is busy, with steam coming off the food and various different characters eventually all contributing to the scene.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear from this clip alone that the studio is stepping up its efforts following the meteoric success of Black Myth: Wukong.<\/p>\n

Of course, with no date attached \u2013 and this being a non-canon, celebratory trailer \u2013 don\u2019t expect to be playing it any time soon.<\/p>\n
