{"id":582704,"date":"2026-02-11T17:24:28","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T17:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/582704\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T17:24:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T17:24:28","slug":"saks-fifth-avenue-to-close-biltmore-location-in-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/582704\/","title":{"rendered":"Saks Fifth Avenue to close Biltmore location in Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 After its parent company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2026\/01\/14\/luxury-retailer-saks-global-files-bankruptcy-it-prepares-restructure\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">filed for bankruptcy<\/a> earlier this year, changes are coming to a prime Saks Fifth Avenue location in Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Saks Fifth Avenue store in the Biltmore Fashion Park is among eight store locations that the company will close.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Saks Global, which is the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue, said the store closures allow it to focus on more profitable locations with higher growth potential. Along with the eight Fifth Avenue locations, the company is closing one Neiman Marcus location.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saksfifthavenue.com\/locations\/phoenix\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Biltmore store<\/a> closure will force the company to lay off 67 employees, according to a notice the company filed with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azjobconnection.gov\/search\/warn_lookups\/951\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arizona Job Connection<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A specific date for the store closures was not provided, but the company says the stores will close \u201cin the first phase of this ongoing review.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Saks Global filed for bankruptcy in January. When the company announced it would buy Neiman Marcus for $2.65 billion in the summer of 2024, the goal was to create a powerhouse in a luxury sector that had grown more fragmented.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The acquisition only added to an already onerous debt at Saks as luxury sales weakened.
