HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 The murder trial for the man accused of killing Migos rapper Takeoff has been scheduled, the suspect\u2019s attorney confirmed to KPRC 2 News.<\/p>\n

Patrick Xavier Clark, 36, is set to go to trial on Nov. 9, according to his attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins. <\/p>\n

The jury selection is set to begin on Nov. 5.<\/p>\n

Clark is charged in connection with the 2022 death of Takeoff, whose legal name was Kirsnick Khari Ball. The 28-year-old rapper was shot and killed during a private party at a downtown Houston bowling alley in the 1200 block of San Jacinto.<\/p>\n

Takeoff was killed around 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2022. The event was hosted by J. Prince Jr., son of Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince. <\/p>\n

According to investigators, an argument broke out during or after a dice game involving Quavo, Takeoff\u2019s uncle and fellow Migos member.<\/p>\n

Video that circulated online appeared to show Quavo walking away from the area moments before gunfire erupted. Authorities say Takeoff was struck during the shooting and died at the scene. <\/p>\n

Two other people were also shot but were transported to hospitals in private vehicles and survived their injuries.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege that surveillance video shows Clark pointing and firing a gun toward a group of people. Investigators have also said Clark\u2019s fingerprints were recovered from a wine bottle left at the scene.<\/p>\n

Clark has consistently denied firing the fatal shots. His defense team maintains that he did not kill the rapper and continues to assert his innocence.<\/p>\n
