Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Kristin Westbrook<\/strong> is revealing just how much she actually earned during her three-season stint on the famed dance team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was on the team, it was: hourly for practice [of] $15\/hour,\u201d Kristin wrote via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, June 21, adding that she and other cheerleaders would also get \u201cflat fees\u201d for various other performances.<\/p>\n

According to Kristin, DCC athletes were paid a $400 fee<\/a> for NFL games and another \u201cflat fee\u201d for other appearances and meet-and-greets.<\/p>\n

\u201cFlat fee for appearances \u2014 $100 (x # of years on the team),\u201d she added, noting a rookie would make $100, while a second-year veteran would earn $200 and so on.<\/p>\n

And with all eyes on the hardest-working fans in the stadium, it begs an obvious question: Just how much do NFL cheerleaders get paid? It turns out, not a whole lot. NFL cheerleaders [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Kristin cheered for the Cowboys from 2019 to 2022, alongside America\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders veterans<\/a> Kelcey Wetterberg, Victoria Kalina<\/strong> and Chandi Dayle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Throughout the first two seasons of Netflix\u2019s America\u2019s Sweethearts<\/a>, many of the cheerleaders revealed that they were barely paid minimum wage for their DCC tenure. They often needed to supplement their income elsewhere, and many stars took on two or three other jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say I\u2019m making, like, a substitute teacher [salary],\u201d DCC alum Kat Puryear<\/strong> said during season 1. \u201cI would say I\u2019m making, like, [the same as a] Chick-fil-A worker that works full-time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going into the 2024-2025 season, vets Jada McLean, Megan McElaney<\/strong> and Amanda Howard<\/strong> led the charge to advocate for higher pay. At the end of season 2, their efforts were successful and earned the group a \u201c400 percent\u201d salary increase.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a tough topic to start to have conversations [about],\u201d Jada, 25, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/a>ahead of the season 2 premiere earlier this month. \u201cWe were pretty serious, as leaders, this was something that we really wanted to see a change happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCourtesy of Netlfix While Reece Weaver is \u201cgrateful\u201d that she still earns an income for dancing on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders team, it is still pennies compared to the salaries allocated for the football players. During Weaver\u2019s recent appearance on the \u201cUnplanned\u201d podcast, she was asked about the salary discrepancy after host Matt Howard questioned [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cIt was the beginning of the season and we also had a great group of rookies who just wanted to cheer. So it was [hard] navigating how we wanted to have this positive change without affecting people who just worked so hard. But [the rookies] understood we were looking out for them and their futures as cheerleaders as well as the women that come after us.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Jada retired at the end of last season, she fought so that the DCC members following in her footsteps would be better off.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t go into too much detail, but I will say there\u2019s an increase all around when it comes to hourly and appearance fees and just everything as a whole,\u201d Jada told Us. \u201cIt\u2019s a very great change and I think the girls are gonna benefit a lot from it moving forward. \u2026 It\u2019s gonna take a lot of the financial stresses out of their lives, which is something that we wanted to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI\u2019ve struggled financially on this team and that was something that I didn\u2019t want anyone else to have to deal with while they\u2019re cheerleaders. I think they\u2019re in a good position moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jada and her cohorts had gone above director Kelli Finglass<\/strong> <\/a>and choreographer Judy Trammell<\/strong>\u2019s heads to seek raises from the Cowboys\u2019 legal and HR teams directly.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy goal was to keep the team\u2019s momentum forward moving, and that\u2019s exactly what we did,\u201d Kelli told Us, referring to the cheerleaders\u2019 rumored plans for a walkout if their demands weren\u2019t met. \u201cWe stayed focused on the job at hand. We knew there were some discussions going on. We also know that every spring, we reevaluate as an organization \u2014 all things on all programs. We\u2019re thrilled that the girls are happy with the enhancements that are made. We had a great season with the cheerleaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelli, 60, and Judy, 67, are currently running their annual and coveted training camp to select the next class of DCC cheerleaders for the 2025-2026 NFL season.<\/p>\n
